Sounds of New Orleans

Inspired by my post last week about recording audio in addition to taking photos, I did my best while in New Orleans to capture sounds around town. A city known for its music and soulful culture, New Orleans is a smorgasbord of sound - street musicians, tap dancers, jesus freaks orators, bachelor parties - from “dance on the bar music” (Mazel Tov!) to ragtime, the French Quarter to the Upper line, melodies pour into every street, overlapping to create quite a unique yet invigorating experience.

UNFORTUNATELY my camera did not do such a great job of recording what I wanted to share with you (most of the music was too loud which resulted in muddled mess-should have used the iPhone instead) but I managed to grab a tiny piece of the jazz/ragtime band we caught @ Fritzels…
