I feel like I owe you a brief summary…

  • To our delight the gift lounge opening was pushed back to 12:00pm which for us meant a nice breakfast at Bottega Louie (yes again –there’s not much downtown) and a leisurely start to the day.(Ed: also check out downtown Corkbar, Ciudad, the Edison)
  • The first few hours in the “Lipton Green Vitali Tea” gift lounge were rather slow so I decided to investigate some of the other sponsor products (eh hem competition-kidding)available to the celebs. Favorites – Santoni shoes (gorgeous & handmade), Aqua Swiss watches, Nespresso (woo hoo!), Flip, AMC and Moroccan Oil to name a few. Extremely nice group of people.
  • Around 3pm the celebs started to roll off the red carpet in all their fabulous-ness starting with Debra Messing – who declined a photo with Anoname Jeans but agreed at least to take a Brandeis Alumni photo us- for the newsletter of course„,
  • Other notable Emmy moments from Sunday night: Charlie Sheen introducing himself as a fan to Michael C. Hall, chatting with Kevin Dillon about Mamaroneck, Tracey Morgan being, well, Tracey Morgan.
  • Did anyone else catch NPH fighting with a director type person in the first “candid” camera shot leading into commerical break 1? Just me?
  • Event highlight? Karina Smirnoff (DWTS) personally texting Janna a thank you for her Anoname jeans! She loves them!

This was definitely an interesting experience. On3 Productions did a great job and it was a pleasure to meet and work with them.

I still find it so odd that there is a need in our culture to reward our entertainers to no end with free product. I know they directly influence what us plebeians spend our money on but they can actually afford to buy this stuff!  At least the celebs seemed to appreciate the gifting – though I’m sure many of them just pass along their schwag to family, friends & employees. I would.

Downtown LA…Just weird. Don’t go to the Los Angeles Mall.
