The lunch scene around my office is pretty diverse.  I’ve got Union Sq a block or two South (Chop’t, Medina, Automatic Dog, Whole Foods), Madsion Sq. Park and it’s Shake Shack gem to the North and various carts, trucks (yes, you cupcake truck) and take-out joints to keep me well fed as I power through my day. Despite all of these options after a year plus at this location I have a serious case of lunch fatigue.  I’ve exhausted the affordable & semi-health concious food options.
Until now…
After hearing some mumblings - and seeing empty food bags- around the office, I finally decided to try the new “sandwhich shop” at Republic, formerly my go-to spot for on the cheap vietnamese noodle dishes (if I’m having a noodle day). Verdict=AWESOME. During lunch they offer a combo deal - one hefty sandwich on a long roll AND a medium size cold noodle/papya style salad (I would say quite large)- for about $10. In this area that’s golden for the amount of food they give you. So full but so worth it! Take that Chop’t! I went with the Beef Satay sandwhich with Vietnamese veggies - this time. My new task for the month will be to eat my way through the rest of Republic’s sandwich shop combo meals (it’s really a lunch & dinner combo for me!) full list here
