An odd obsession of mine. Next time you are on the 6 or 1 in NYC stand at the front of the train and keep your eyes out for some spooky-ness.
My favorite subway find - this film clip taken in 1905 to show off the newly open subway system (7 months old at the time). Film maker Billy Bitzer mounted a camera on the front of a new electric subway train. The camera follows behind an Interboro Rapid Transit train (IRT), from the new 14th Street (Union Square) subway station, all the way up the east side to midtown at 42nd Street, pulling into the old Grand Central Terminal. The most interesting part of this film is around the 1:45 mark as the train pulls into the station and NYorkers of yesteryear scamble to commute.
