Wow. After posting the above phrase on facebook, thinking it would stir up instant recognition and praise for cleverness, only my cousin Sandra remembered the reference from the 1986 commercial for Man of La Mancha. So Sandra, you get a special shout-out here on Muppetlegs this evening. If anyone can track down the actual commerical bonus points will be given.
Side note: after touring the University of Chicago on one of my college visits, the theater loving guide who dragged us around campus made the group recite this phrase to her boss in order to show our appreciation and rehearsed enthusiasm for her performance/guide abilities.
